Please say a prayer

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of PZC member Mickey McPhee following a brief illness. He was only 36, and leaves a young wife and son.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, 4-7pm at Alderson Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Friday at 10am at the First Congregational Church.

Let us pray for Mickey, and for Meagan and their family.

There is a fund set up at Naugatuck Savings Bank to benefit his wife and 2 year old son.

Mickey was self employed. He had no life insurance. Both Mickey and and his son had contracted H1N1 (swine) flu. Mickey also had double pneumonia.

At the very least, we all should take away from this loss to the town that if you feel sick, take a break. Mickey continued working as long as he could before going to the doctor. His body was over stressed and over worked.

If you are self employed, learn to take a break. A few hours will not ruin your business and can save your life. If you are an employer, (town included) understand how deadly these illnesses are. Allow time to heal and get better. 1 sick employee creates more sick employees. Sick employees make sick customers. Be a little generous and allow people the time they need.
