Congratulations Rams!!! The kids played hard and this was a well deserved win for the team. The type of field (turf vs. grass) does not matter and the kids proved it all season long.
I give the kids credit...not once have they complained about the grass field or it's condition all year long. Not once have the kids used the field condition as an excuse for losing a game (unlike the coaches). Instead the kids worked hard, played hard and showed a lot of heart by playing the game, not the politics. I'm proud of them!
Nice job Rams. Congratulations on a job well done.
Yes the kids did a great job.
But I have to wonder that if the real reason the WH game was postponed was due to something other than "illness," say a coach's transgression, wouldn't that be a bit deceptive and possibly against CIAC rules whereby they should have forfeited that game if they were a no show. From what I'm hearing there is more to the story which could change the whole picture.
What are you hearing?
Do we really have to ruin this for the kids. The focus should be on them. How dare you say they should of forfeited a game or tried to side step anything. The decision wasn't made by coaches, it was made by Greg Florio. Know what you are talking about. They are already getting the new locker room. There was no political motive behind the decision. If anything they didn't want to blame it on the locker room because as bad as it is, if it got shut down the kids would have nothing compared to that dump.
Get them turf....it saves the towns people a lot of money. The turf money will be raised by the people. If you don't put it in the tax payers are going to have to do something with that field anyways. This is a no brainer.

And therein may lie your answer. Apparently you don't know how the school system operates. When rules get broken the info fed to the public is not always accurate.
It has nothing to do with the kids, the locker room, illness, or politics. It has to do with keeping our image squeeky clean.
If you know what it is just say it, you are like a small child, grow up and put it out there.

The field is fine. Even the kids say so. At least the kids are responsible and honest about the field...some parents and coaches not so much.
Sounds to me that someone is bitter about this town and the image it upholds. I would love to know why the game was pushe back if not for illness. Someone acts as if they know something but instead if saying what they know they want to throw darts at the accomplishments of 100 kids. Did you not get enough attention as a kid. Also the field is not even close to fine. It's a mud bog.
If a person violates a school policy is it better to be honest with the public about the incident or should the situation be covered up?
