Gaffey's double-billing costs him $6,000

From the MRJs Amanda Falcone:

The state Elections Enforcement Commission is ordering Sen. Thomas P. Gaffey, D-Meriden, to pay a $6,000 penalty for misusing political action committee funds and for double billing both the state and his committee for nearly $3,000 in expenditures.

Based on reading the article though, I'm not sure if the $6,000 is his pocket or from his PAC that currently has $20,000.

Regardless, there will never be any real investigation of this matter. Decades ago the state legislature rewrote the rules to eliminate the power of subpoena for state's attorneys in CT. The very reason it was done was because legislators were being asked too many questions. And they didn't like that. So the eliminated the ability to properly investigate them. But what do you expect in Corrupticut?

740: poor taste. Gaffey is a slime, but leave his family tragedy out of it.
