CHS Marching Ram Band Christmas tree disposal

A slightly edited email from Cheshire-resident Mike Rocci:

Tired of lugging your Christmas Tree down to the transfer station, have you ever not known what to do with it after the Holidays are over. Well, as a Cheshire Band Parent I did not know that for more than 20 years, volunteers from the Cheshire High School Marching Ram Band have been involved with a little fund raising project. With a blessing from our Town Manager and his group of merry men and women the CHSMRB has managed to pick up and dispose of these trees in order to take the burden off your back. On Saturday, January 10th all you need to do is to leave your pre-loved Christmas Tree by the curbside in front of your house and leave the rest to the dedicated young women and men of the CHSMRB. The trees will be picked up, brought to a chipping site and then to the transfer station where it will then be recycled back to mother earth.

It's as easy as calling 250-3281, a recorded message will give you all the details and ask you to leave your name, address and phone number. The CHS Band Parents Association is humbly asking for a $15 fee per tree, which will go towards the running of the CHSMRB for another fun filled grueling victorious year of musical competitions. I hope you will make this years fund raiser the best and biggest ever. This message is in no way a solicitation from the CHSBPA or the CHSMRB, it's a note from one band parent to you. I wish you all a Happy and safe New Years and thank you in advance for your continued patronage to the CHS Marching Ram Band and all of the Arts in our town.

Too bad you can't just burn pinewood in the fireplace.

Hopefully none of it goes towards the turf either.

P.S. They still need more volunteers with pick up trucks to hall the expected 700 trees to the transfer station. Anyone interested please leave your name and phone number by calling the number posted on the original post and someone will get back to you.

Thanks in advance,
