Ted "the bridge-to-nowhere" Stevens is guilty

Yippee!!!

Senator Ted "The Porkmeister The Criminal" Stevens is almost certain to lose his Senate seat! At least that's what it seems to show on RealClearPolitics with a bunch of preconviction polls.

But there's even more upside to this... even more dirty Republicans are bound to lose!

And the downside?

A bunch of good Republicans will also likely lose... John Shadegg (R-AZ) comes to mind... and some shady Democrats will likely hold onto their seats... Jack Murtha (D-PA) comes to mind. Oh well. 2010 isn't that far away.

I understand that there is no law against felons serving in congress. What's wrong with these people. This is a law that is strongly needed.

Healy compared Dodd to Stevens tonight on Channel 59. Maybe Chris will take the hint and get out while the getting's good.

I think it was Rep. Jim Traficant (OH-D) about ten years ago who tried to serve from prison.

As for Dodd... I place no faith in a Senate Ethics Committee that spends more time trying to stop ObGyn Senator Tom Coburn from delivering babies, than understanding Dodd's mortgages.

The Senate has got to be one of the most surreal places on Earth. Collectively they lose all common sense and apparently live in an alternate universe.
