July 8 discussion with CRRA

About a month ago, I briefly mentioned the July 8 Council visit by CRRA. But if you'd like greater detail, here is the 44 minutes of the CRRA discussion:
IMO, it's a pretty big issue for the town. So if you don't know much about it, you may be interested... even if it sounds pretty boring.

Just tell me where to dump my old tires - CHS football field or the AD's house?

Both of those places would be inappropriate. If you ask around though, you may find a Councilman who wants them.

This could be a huge expenditure if the town goes in with the other towns to purchase this plant. The fact that the towns have to commit to the purchase before knowing the purchase price was a bit scary to hear. I also wondered why the town attorney said there were 2 appraisals for the plant but he never mentioned the amounts. Is it a secret? Or can you tell us those amounts?

Don't quote me on this, but I think the two key numbers are:

$20 - $23 million valuation for the plant (I think it was reported in the MRJ)

$30 - $40 million in the bank (accumulated over the years)

Those aren't secrets.

One other big consideration though might be a payment to Wallingford for letting the plant stay.
