Calaluce retiring

From the NHRs Luther Turmelle:

The first day of school Thursday was a little different for Paul Calaluce Jr., the district’s assistant superintendent for administrative services.

That’s because Wednesday, at the school’s annual convocation of teachers and staff, Calaluce announced that he plans to retire next June after 17 years of service....

Republican Town Councilman James Sima, who served on the Board of Education before joining the council, called Calaluce “a major asset that the school district and the community are going to miss.”

I agree.

We may be in a recession, but it doesn't seem that the BOE knows about it.
On the Monday before school started, our superintendent was grilling chicken and beef kabobs with all the picnic fixins over at the high school for all the BOE secretarial staff, principals, and custodial staff.
Perhaps it was a celebration for Calaluce too.
It's not just about cookies and coffee. But what the heck, it's only money.

Paul's retirement is a real shame. He is the person that should have been the Supt. for many years. Paul has done more by accident to improve the school system than the Supt has done with intent.

Maybe that's why he's leaving.
