If it's financial services, recession may hit Cheshire

From the NHRs Luther Turmelle:

The recession could cost Connecticut between 11,500 and 42,000 jobs over the next two years, according to projections made in the latest quarterly economic forecast by University of Connecticut economists...

What likely will determine the severity of the recession in Connecticut, and its length, is how hard the financial services sector is hit, he said...

Many of the communities that would be the hardest hit by a recession of that magnitude are in Fairfield County, along the state’s so-called “Gold Coast.” But the impact would also hit three New Haven-area communities — North Haven, Cheshire and Shelton — especially hard.

I'm not too optimistic about banking... the industry that's employed me since 2000.

Working for a financial services company, we were already told there would be no raises this year....should have been a Cheshire teacher i guess....our annual bonus is now on the line and we are expecting more layoffs over the next couple of weeks..
