Congratulations to Chief Casner!
The MRJs Jesse Buchanan reports:
Fire Chief Jack Casner was elected president of the Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association in November, following a term as first vice president. Casner's term as president is one year.
The association allows fire departments to train together and to coordinate planning for homeland security and emergency preparedness.
Coordination of their work is critical. For instance, when there's an accident on a state highway (I-691) - who responds? Or if there is a large structural fire, should several towns respond?
