our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor - 2

And what passes for political leadership in this land today would not, almost to a man or woman, risk their lives, certainly not risk their fortunes, and few have any honor, sacred or otherwise, to lay on the line.

CM... warrantless wiretaps are needed for you safety.

Scooter Libby did nothing wrong... it was all a witch hunt. Besides, he did it for your safety.

And it was best to keep Jose Padilla locked up for four years without being charged. Without that four years... well, he still would've been guilty. But it was important for your safety.

As for why anyone thought they were electing an opposition party in 2006... I'm not sure because they certainly didn't get one. (rhetoric yes, votes no)

I'll point out though that David Walker quit a very cushy job as head of the GAO... for one reason... he recognized that America's fiscal policy is a train wreck that's about to happen. And he quit his job in an attempt to right that wrong... but of course, he was appointed... not elected.
