CPD captures escapee immediately

As reported by the MRJs Jesse Buchanan:

Escaped Webster Correctional Institution inmate Robert Shepard had about 15 minutes of freedom.

Shepard, 31, of Stafford Springs,
escaped from the minimum-security prison while on a work detail around 12:21 p.m. on Monday. A Cheshire resident called police after seeing Shepard jump a fence and go into the woods near Cheshire Park. Police arrested Shepard around 12:36 p.m. and a woman with him, Theresia O'Hara, 31, of Stafford Springs.

Great job done by Cheshire's finest!

Anyone care to look these two up and see their history and post the links here? I don't have the time right now.

Not a very smart man. In for second degree assault with a 4 year maximum sentence that started in April of 2005. Latest schedule of release was February, 2009. He may have even been out sooner. The prisons are filled with idiots!

Found nothing on her.

Dear Anonymous 5:39:
Sorry to insult you. Maybe you are one of the smarter inmates.
I consider myself pretty smart not to do things that would land me in prison in the first place.
I never said prison was easy, I think it is idiotic to escape when you have already served over 3 years of a maximum sentence.
It you think that is smart then perhaps you should remain locked up a little longer.
Not sure where you would get $10,000, but it sure sounds like you are a tough guy. Good luck to you.

According to the NHRs Luther Turmelle:

CHESHIRE — What can best be described as the urge for an unauthorized conjugal visit between a 31-year-old prisoner at the Webster Correctional Institution and a female acquaintance apparently prompted the inmate to bolt from a work detail near the prison Monday, but police captured him about 10 minutes later.

Remember Marie Hoct (sp??) who ran Marie's Luncheonette at the corner of Maple & Rte. 10 ?

Seems I recall that maybe 20-30 years ago, she chased off an escaped criminal with a broom and called the police. He was swiftly apprehended. Nobody messed with Marie!

That figures! Guess we know where his brains are. Hope the 10 minutes was enough...more than likely was.

11:31 I see you've lived in town for quite some time. I remember Marie's Luncheonette! Used to walk there as a kid to buy candy. Those were the good old days!

So, they hadn't had sex in a while. If you didn't get to "do it" with the one you love, wouldn't you jump the fence?

He should have just done the job himself. With the added years behind bars, I guess now he'll have to.
