Amann retires as Speaker

Speaker of the House Jim "Crusher" Amann announced his retirement. I will miss him and his somewhat high-pitched raspy voice. It was always so easy to tell when he was on WPLR during the drive to work. I understand though that he's still running for Governor, thankfully. I'm sure he'll provide plenty of fodder for the CT blogosphere for the next two years. And if you enjoy the political side of all this (as opposed to the policy side), you should read the linked Capitol Watch post. It does a great job on giving the short version of Jim Amann.

Good Bye!!
I hope he will find that his arrogance has cost him any shot at being governor.

Be careful what you wish for. Although we are not in the UK, we will now be run by the Labour Party in CT, as Christopher Donovan is as militant a union hack as the late Jimmy Hoffa.

Yep, think "Old Labour" in the UK pre-Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. And Jodi ain;t no Maggie Thatcher

We can only hope for better...
I personally think we can't get any more corrupt then what Amann was.
You are right, we are not in the UK. we will do a better job!
