Here's the Register's take on Cheshire's ongoing public debate on the northend proposal (by Luther Turmelle):
The proposed development, which is still in its formative stages, has created a highly charged debate. On one side are residents who want to add tax revenues in a section of town that has seen limited economic growth over the past decade, while opponents say the complex will boost spending on public services and use land better devoted to commercial and industrial uses.What I find is interesting is something I just stumbled across... a factory may soon open in Cheshire. And as surprising as I found that, it does make a lot of sense when you know what it intends to produce... more to come.
I need to do a bit of digging on this one. It could be great though, particularly since it would not be a "relocation" of a factory, but an entirely new factory... so it wouldn't be representative of the competition among CT towns that happens all too often.

Debate is good, it is good for the town to be talking about this. Not sure if I am pro or con but I am glad that we are talking.

Is the Cheshire Republican Party becoming CAVE men?
Is seems as if many GOP officials in Cheshire can be defined as CAVE men – Citizens Against Virtually Everything.
Already people are up in arms about this and without any information. Somebody should explain the steps that are to be taken in order to even allow the P&Z to make a decision.
Does anyone know; will the P&Z make their decision after the developer comes forth and submits a plan or will they make their decision before there is a submitted plan?
I hope they make their decision after a plan has been submitted, only makes sense.
