I just pay it because I need it

Excerpted from today's Courant:

Consumers have little recourse except to keep pumping. Jackie Alix, 19, commutes each day from Killingworth to Central Connecticut State University, where she's a student. She said gas price increases add up quickly."I don't pay attention to the reasons why it goes up. I just pay it because I need it," she said as she bought gas at a Mobil station in Cromwell. (by Mark Peters)
And this is the situation in which I believe most of us find ourselves... and why we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. For more on a plan to reduce that dependence, click here to see the plan put forth by the non-profit Energy Security Leadership Council.
