Mary's bills

Over at CT Local Politics, Genghis Conn recently did a piece entitled "Prolific Legislators." It's about the 187 legislators and how many bills were introduced by each one of them this year.

Sen. Edith Prague "won" the award for most bills in either body (259) and Rep. Karen Jarmoc "won" for fewest bills (4), while our own Mary Fritz came in "third" in the House with 81, but was "tops" in Cheshire in legislation introduced. Anyway, I thought I'd mention her complete list of bills here (to see the actual bill, click on the boldface):

This is great, Mary has Cheshire's interest in her bills and it shows. It is most likely the result of more team work between our new council and the state delegation. Which is in stark contrast to the previous council attitude which was lets bring in the state delegation and verbally beat them about the head and then complain they don't do anything for our town. I like the bills and I like the change.

The town and state meetings show that Fritz hates Schrumm and Schrumm hates Fritz. It has probably been that way for years.

Now how dumb is that. You have a powerful member of the Ct General Assembly who can help the town but because of a conflict in political party you choose to make an enemy. It seems to me it is a selfish act to not be able to put your personal issues aside in order to get something done for the town. I see that the Democrats treat Rep. Adinolfi and Sen. Calageri (SIC) with respect and I have seen them having cordial conversations. They are and fine example of why there needs to be a sign on the left side of the council>> check your ego and politics at the door and do what is right for the town.

Why is health insurance expensive?

HB05053 AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR MOUTH GUARDS FOR PERSONS WITH TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DYSFUNCTION.

These unfunded state mandates increase the cost of insurance for everyone.

Stop these unfunded state mandates and repeal the old ones.

These mandates (and the legislators who propose them) are the problem.
