BOE Chairman?
Anyone know the next BOE Chairman? I don't know who it is, but I am curious.

Don't know who they'll pick, but my guess would be Alan Sobol. He would make the best chairman of the bunch.
Bob Behrer spilled the beans on the chair when he suggested/nominated Brittingham at last week's BOE meeting.
Why would Alan Sobol make a good chair? He can't even make the meetings. He has a terrible meeting attendance record.
I expect the chair to come down between Dixon Brittingham.
Behrer doesn't have much to say about anything...especially who should be the next chair.
I believe Sobol had some surgery issues, so it may not be fair to pick on him for missing some meetings. He still is the most well spoken board member.
Mr. Sobol is the most level headed of the bunch. He does his homework and keeps the Taxpayers in mind while supporting education. The others seem to be rubber stampers.

Brittingham doesn't strike me as a rubber stamper
Look at the last few "IMPORTANT" votes. Nobody questions anything.
Gerry is at least approachable and will listen to ideas from both parties.
Make Brittingham the Chairman
We want Tod Dixon, Sobol leans far to the left.We need some one that will lead the board to demand that the superintendent find ways to cut costs. We didn't need all these assistants when we more students. He is playing the game; the higher the budget he is responsible for, the he can make
Brittingham has more than enough votes for the chair. Dixon has enough votes for vice-chair. We'll see what actually happens on 12/10 when the new BOE has their organizational meeting. I wouldn't count Sobol out just yet as anything can happen on 12/10.
Dixon for chair?? He hardly ever speaks at the meetings and if he does it isn't to ask any meaningful questions.
How about a chair person who has an advanced education???
"How about a chair person who has an advanced education???
Why stop there? How about a chair person that's won a nobel prize? Oh wait...that lost credibility lately. Never mind.
For chair, advanced education has little relavance to the position. People skills, common sense, organizational skills, listening skills, a backbone and a fully functional brain are more important. Leadership experience helps a tad too.
Advanced education does not lead to sound judgement. Degrees are good for hanging on walls, not so good for chair qualifications.
The Chair of the BOE needs a degree in common sense. First rule of the BOE is that any member should not earned a living in education. Second rule they should not be a lawyer.
Sobol cannot show up on time for any meeting.
Dixon never says anything, has no clue.
Brittingham most likely has a better relationship with the Supt than all others except for Morowka and he no longer counts.
Make Massey chair of Budget like the past 4 years. This removes any complaint by the Dem's they had no representation.
I like the idea the of the possibility the chair of the BOE does not have a college education, maybe, just maybe some amount of common sense and intelligence will find its' way into the BOE.
As far as I'm concerned the new BOE will have 4 democrats (Mrowka, Massey, Brittingham, Dixon) and 3 republicans (Sobol, Pavano, Perugini). Expect many 4-3 votes, as such, expect more of the same.
You may be right.
We don't want someone that has a relationship with the Sup. That has been the problem in the past. If we follow the suggestion made by Bill, it will be the same old same old. People voted for a reason and wanted new people. Give the new people a chance. The previous board didn't do much. As far as Mr Massey as budget chair NO WAY. Mr Perugini should get that position.
