Slocum discusses tonight's Council meeting
Councilman Tim Slocum offers some thoughts on tonight's Council meeting, including the votes on both the linear trail and another $22,000 wasted on another ad hoc measure to "fix" the pool. I'd say the vote was a joke. Unfortunately, we all know the joke is being played on the taxpayers. Enough is enough.
Also worth mentioning... of the 9 challenging Council candidates, 3 attended tonight...
Andy Falvey
Anne Giddings
Sylvia Nichols
Tim White

What is the threshold at which you become pissed off at expenditures? $10K? $20K? $70K? $90K? These numbers don't sound familiar to you becuase you are not doing your job. Don't claim to be a fiscal watchdog when the only thing you are watching and sounding off about are the grandstand issues (like sheetrock replacement at the pool). You are right- enough is enough- but all the small things add up and are bleeding us dry. It's time you put your money where your mouth is-- stop worrying about where Ron Paul is sleeping tonight and watch the day-to-day goings on in this town. Follow the money. You won't believe what you find.
I'm all ears. What are the "day-to-day goings on in this town" that offer opportunities for savings? I certainly feel that I've tried to address a number of these things. But as long as the Political Class rules Cheshire, the taxpayers won't get to experience any of those savings.
But if you're talking about the cost of gasoline for take-home cars or cement mixers that may get called out to fix twenty square of sidewalk... yes... I know there are a lot of places we could save money - both big and small.
But there's only so much I can do. And while something may not get mentioned on this blog, that doesn't mean I'm unaware.
As for Ron Paul... if you don't like my blog... feel free to avoid it.

DO YOU EVEN FOLLOW HOW TIM VOTES??
It sounds like you are confusing him with one of the Fab 5.
Tim has been sounding off on ridiculous spending since he has been in office. Unfortunately, when you are in the minority, you can't stop the spending.
I would put Tim's record of fiscal management voting against any one of the 5 majority members and I will guarantee you he could have saved us money.
Wake up and pay attention to what is going on.
