Ruocco offers some thoughts on the 09/10 capital budget

Councilman Tom Ruocco offers some of his initial thoughts on the 09/10 capital budget. Along with offering alternative operating budgets this year and last... Tom offered an alternative capital budget last year. Each of his alternatives were approximately $500,000 less than the adopted budgets. That's a total of $1,500,000 that probably would not have been spent, if Tom were the Budget Committee Chairman.

You can expect Tom to again work with the current Budget Committee Chairman, Mike Ecke, to find ways to reduce the size of this year's $9,000,000 proposal. If Tom finds common ground and can build the consensus needed in this recession, Tom may not offer an alternative capital budget this year.

Public hearing is tomorrow in Town Hall at 7:30pm. And the vote for the capital budget is scheduled for next week.

To the GOP and the Town of Cheshire. This is a very sensitive situation that has gotten worse. Mr. Kleist found a note from his wife stating she could not take it anymore. Now we don't know what has happened to her. She did not go to a scheduled appointment this morning. God help this town if something happened. Are you happy now.
I did not threaten anyone so knock off the theatrics.

Did not make the connection between you and Ms. Kleist. Hopefully she will turn up okay.
You should not blame the entire Republican party and the town because of a few crack pots. We all need to remember that politics is a sort of game. Who ever wins makes the decisions.
This country was founded by people who speak their minds, like Cindy. We don't have to agree with it though.
When a person speaks their mind they should also be ready to take the schrapnel that comes along with it. If for one reason or other they become overly sensitive to the issues and the complaints, they should step away. Just don't play the game.
I hope Cindy is okay and we will pray for a safe return.

I grew up with Cindy so I know what is she is going through. These comments hit a very sensitive nerve with her it has nothing to do anything these words hit her the wrong way this woman had no human touch for nearly three months after she was born she was born addicted to heroin her parents did not take care of her they nearly starved her to death. it is a miracle she did as well as she did it has nothing to do with being a victim she is a victim like many others now she is suffering from flashbacks oh i hope she is ok.

What is totally wrong is to have personal statements of any type made about someone on a blog like this. This is supposed to be a forum to express ideas and issues. Ms. Kliest's personal issues are out of bounds. Shut your pie-hole.
