Open forum 5/23

The DOT continues to have moving people around because of the I-84 mess (NHR, by Greg Hladky). The shuffling of staff doesn't seem to me to be of much significance.

Madison rejected some capital projects (NHR, by Abbe Smith) at referendum (senior center and ambulance project), while Harwinton approved some projects (WRA).

The legislature is thinking about reinstating a law similar to the old Heart & Hypertension law (Courant editorial).

And with gas prices rising, more and more people are asking me if I like my Civic hybrid. The answer YES. I love it, particularly since I'm getting about 45mpg and just got my $2100 federal tax credit back!

What else is happening?

I'd love to hear what happened at the P&Z meeting on 5-21. It wasn't televised.

It's funny why issues that are important to the town do not get televised. This is the second time a meting was not televised regarding this critical issue. Some BS reason will be given but we should call the the Town Hall and demand some truthful answers. Call and E-mail your councilman and P&Z and ask . This whole process should be reviewed and the citizens should vote on a matter that is more legislative than judical. Some P&Z members are not comfortable making these legislative decisions from what I see. You can obtain the minutes from the 5/21 meeting at the Town Hall bring some change there is a charge.

the shuffling of staff at DOT is more damage control by Carpenter on behalf of Moody/Rell

Interesting meeting last night that was basically short and sweet. However, each meeting has a section for "appointments" what exactly is that for? How do you get appointed to a committee in town? It seems that it it purposly difficult to get involved in town - nothing posted on the website, etc.

At PZthe no folks thought they had a good day
But the PZ will pass the north end and it will be great

This is not the "YES" vs "NO" or the shoppers vs non-shoppers. It's about the text change and the future of Cheshire. Once this change is made it can't be reversed. That is a fact.

I see this vote going 5-4 against and I think WS will come back w/o residential. This process will start over and last for three more months.

3:51PM I hope your right. The residential (apartments) has no business in the industrial zone. It's not allowed anywhere else why here?

That is not an industrial zone it is the interchange zone there is a difference.
