Adinolfi on contraception bill

From The Day:

The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to require all Connecticut hospitals to provide — either directly or through on-site intermediaries — emergency contraception to women who have been raped, dealing a defeat to a lobbying effort by the state's four Catholic hospitals (The Day, by Ted Mann).

Rep. Al Adinolfi, R-Cheshire, argued that the bill “forces Catholic hospitals to perform abortions in direct contradiction of their beliefs.”

Many fertilized eggs naturally fail to implant on the wall/lining, and that's just during the normal cycle of things. The pill just keeps the egg, fertilized or not, from implanting.

Adinolfi just accused any woman with a menstrual cycle of commiting abortion. Conception still requires implantation, and in the normal flow of things many conceived eggs exit the womans body after failing to attach.

Not exactly. It's not even clear that the contraceptive blocks implantation. All it is is a high dose of hormonal birth control pill(s)

If they want to run their hospitals according to their man made religious beliefs, then their practice of medicine should be limited to members of their own faith.

They are not any better than the Taliban. They should keep their religion to themselves.

America is becoming a police state and the contraception bill is an egregious example that. The General Assembly is destroying our freedom—in this case, religious freedom and freedom of conscience. It is no exaggeration to say that the contraception bill RAPES the First Amendment. Its sponsors are either blind to their violation of the Catholic hospitals’ right to practice medicine in acccordance with their religious beliefs or they are deliberately trying to extend their dictatorial reign over the people of Connecticut. It’s probably the latter since so many have shown so clearly how the bill undermines the Bill of Rights. God save us from the little Napoleons in Hartford!
