Couple of things... first, I placed Republicans above Democrats because that is how the (old) ballots worked... top line always went to the party of the Governor... I have no idea how the new voting machines are going to work... about the matchup in the 2nd... word on the street is that Justin is going to run again... I have no idea if that's true. I haven't spoken to Justin about it.

Any other good election gossip out there?... either with the districts or any other races?

Tim White
Town Council, 4th District

Justin is running?

He is a tool trading on Al's name and the developer's deep pockets

Maybe he should run for the Needham, MA town council?

Tim,

I noticed that you don’t have a Republican running against Elizabeth Esty in the first district.

Doesn’t David Schrumm live in the first district? I would think that he might consider running against Ms. Esty. He has been on the council a long time.

I believe that Mr. Schrumm is the oldest person to ever serve on the council. He might even be a senior citizen. I think he graduated from Cheshire High School in the early 1960’s. He might get a lot of support from the elderly.

One of the ads next to the poll results is for Hillary in '08. I suppose there's no way to screen for obscene links? Wonder whom she'll choose for her running mate...maybe Al Sharpton (whose endorsement she's gladly accepted).

If Justin runs he will kick Tom's ass and everyone in that district knows it. No one in the district can contend with Esty she will kick ass-don;t even bother.
Schrumm does not dare challange her-he knows he can't contend with her in politics or brains
Tim you better watch out as the Dems will run someone next time who is alot better than Paul
The at large is all Dems as well
Will be a 7 2 council next time

I hope Visconti doesn't get elected. She always says such stupid things. Did anyone hear her remark at the P&Z about hoping to have a trolley ride for RT 10. Dah!!!!

Visconti will kick any R's ass in her district-just like she did against what ever her name was in 05

Thanks for the heads up on Justin and Diane. I wasn't sure they were going to kick ahs as you say but now that you have confirmed it it must be so. As to why you remain anonymous I will never know. The Obama campaign could save an awful lot of time if you would just give a hint as to how you feel on that race with Hillary. You're a genius!
I'm staying anonymous as I am a mere mortal.

Don't bother with the Hillary stuff there is not one Rep in Cheshire who can compete with her-so start all the Rove like rumors you want-it want work

A trolly (or a bus) is not a bad idea if we get the North End village...who likes paying 3 plus a gallon for gas? What Mom wouldn't like to NOT drive her kids everywhere? New Haven has a Trolly. Many towns have buses. This is Diane Visconti and I'd be glad to discuss my ideas!

9:00 Diane - Don't you think that if we can't afford to pay the $3.00 plus for gas that maybe we won't be able to afford the "high end" shoppes?? And for those that can afford the "high end" shoppes, I doubt they'll want to leave their Mercedes to stand at a corner waiting to hop on a trolley. Just can't picture it.

10:02 Your on the mark! Were not New Haven or Hartford where people walk to bus stops, we have to drive everywhere. I can just see people getting into their cars to drive to a bus stop. Yeah right!

As far as Tom Ruocco is concerned he always takes in consideration the people in his district. He's one of the best councilors we have.

West Main street area has many stores which are owned by local people. There is public transportation (Warterbury to New Haven). Sorry no trolleys. There is affordable housing, condos, apartment over stores and free standing apartments . The home prices are in low end for cheshire. Southend has the same. Why are people going to go north to hang around? Good political conversations for the fall. Go get the votes because you have a lot of explaining to do. Good luck to all running.

What about an unnamed Democrat to challenge Diane for her seat? Ask that question. Problem is the Democratic Town Party will always support the incumbent, even when the incumbent is not the best choice o potential democrats.

Hi sz...good comment about not affording gas to go to the North End but wanting to shop high end! I was thinking more of seniors (who might not drive anymore), teens and people who would work there. Thinking of people concerned about carbon emmissions and people annoyed with traffic. Diane Visconti

It goes back to the same thing - people are not going to drive to get on a bus. Cheshire is not a town where people can get to a bus stop by walking whether it's teens, seniors, whoever. The idea is not feasible.
