07/08 Budget
Here's the Town Manager's proposed budget. Only the first page I know, but thought you might want to take a peek. If so, just click on it to see the highlights. The two main points... "taxes n spending" are:
tax increase = 3.68% (1 mill)
spending increase = 4.08% ($3,574,984)

People who have personality that could be considered narcissistic are often happy when the attention is drawn to them whether it be negative or positive. It is the attention they crave. They ofen think of themselves as smarter and better than others therefore they are shocked when they are rejected. But in the end they hate being ignored or losing the attention they crave. Like a junkie being cut off from their drugs these sorts will do anything to get back the spotlight-even if to lie or hurt others. Starting to sound like anyone you know? The down side is that these people find their way into politics which should be a selfless activity which calls for doing the right thing for others not for oneself, so if we ignore these types we can do our community a favor.
Not sure what that has to do with the budget? Tim how low do you think the mil rate increase will end up? How spending can be cut?
Really haven't looked at the budget yet. Recently, most of my Council time has been spent on ND and ETR.
I'll dig into the budget later this week.

8:23 the whole thing about Narcissism seems a bit odd for this blog (there are blogs on all sorts of medical conditions and mental disorders). But then you mentioned politics.

I figure that 8:23 is one or more of the dem councilors playing their dirty politics game during an election year. How cowardly indeed. Since I'm not sure which one(s) it is, I guess I'll just NOT vote for any of them because I absolutely hate these mud slinging games they're playing trying to hide behind their "anonymous" posts.
The previous poster maybe right about anon 8:23 post coming from the other side of the aisle, but more than a few CRTC members think the description fits DS quite aptly.
Yes, but 9:08, even if there is a CRTC member who doesn't care for the guy, I highly doubt they'd waste so much time and energy with the name calling. Obviously it's the cowardly dems trying to bring him down. Just watch when their ads start appearing in the paper come Sept and Oct - I'm sure you'll see the connection then.
Most Dems don't care about David, right now the Rep care more because he is destroying their party.
As an R I actually find more in our own party who have major issue with DS than anywhere else. I think the D's like having him to kick around and know he won't stop so it becomes an easy target.
823 is not a mudslinger but the normal reaction to years of having to put up with the arrogance of everything from GW Bush to GW Schrumm. The chickens have come home to roost and the truth is out. The worm has turned and the bells toll for thee.
