Wow... I started in December 2003. Now I'm having a meeting in 2010. That just caught my attention... anyway...
The old & new business for Tuesday's meeting:There seemed to be lots of donations to the Cheshire Fuel Bank.

Is the $350,000 original amount that was set aside for the BOE Capital Nonrecurring "emergency repairs" held in the town's budget or is it included in the BOE's budget numbers?
Conflict of interest disclosures sounds interesting. How many are going to lie and how many will tell the truth?
Thank you for posting these agendas. Can you expand on what the item "Conflict of Interest Disclosures" is all about?
There's a BOE budget meeting the same night at Dodd Middle School.
Section 9-3 of the Town Charter and Section 10-1 of the Ordinances require that all Town appointed and elected officials disclose any potential conflicts of interest annually.
Michael Milone's first cousin is the Milone of Milone & MacBroom. Joe Michaelangelo's uncle is Anthony Tranquillo who occasionally represents clients with interests in Cheshire. Joe's cousin Michael Tranquillo works for Kratzert & Jones of Southington and may represent clients with interests in Cheshire. These town officials can't recuse themselves all the time (we need their comments on the projects), so they disclose and if there is any action contemplated with their relatives' companies, the Town Council considers each project and votes on it. Some of the projects would not otherwise come to the Council--too small or routine.
Others of us have occasional connections and we recuse ourselves from discussions and action on specific issues, i.e., I recused myself when the lease with the Friends of Boulder Knoll was discussed, since as an abutting property owner my name was in the lease (description of where the parcel is--right next to my property) and my husband is the Vice President of FOBK.
