The ConnDOT on Cheshire's Route 10
From the MRJs Jesse Buchanan:
Town and state officials are at odds over who is responsible for making the first move to improve traffic conditions on Route 10.
The state Bureau of Engineering and Highway Operations sent a letter to the town saying Cheshire would have to repair or assist the state in repairing the pavement over traffic loops on side roads that signal when cars are trying to enter Route 10.
For those of you who are unaware, Jimmy Sima has been advocating action on Route 10... though he'll never take credit for it publicly.

If the northend development ever happens, there better be something done!
When I see a "Check Cashing" store and the "OTB" coming to Cheshire, I'll be waving the white flag again and moving to Alas-ka!!! See ya!

The town has been taking action....they added more ball fields to Bartlem Park- increasing traffic....they are going to allow a ball complex to be built near the prison(doubtful now with the economy)- more traffic....they OK'd the North End Mall- more traffic....new turf field traffic due to all those "extra events" we will be able to hold, chuckle, chuckle....in all seriousness this does hurt local businesses. I personally try to shop on the way home in Southington then deal with rt 10...
They approved all the stuff on Rt 10 but now are worried about traffic on West Main St which would be a lot less than the Rt 10 proposals. What are they thinking?
The only planning that gets done is that that the developers do and that's only so they can make more money at the taxpayer's expense.
