Status of web video
In an effort to keep the ball rolling, I just sent this email to the Town Council and staff:
All...
With regard to the goal of placing Town Council meetings on the internet, where does this stand (subcommittees, full Council, etc.)? And when can the voters expect to see discussion (and perhaps action) on this?
By the way, I believe a conversation between the town's IT staff and the Town Council's TV Production consultant, Henry Chase, would expedite this process.
thanks,
Tim

Tim:
Why do you and the other council members never say anything about the minutes of the P&Z and Inland Wetlands not being put on the existing websites?
All the minutes for the mall were never put on the web. This is purposely done and it is unacceptable.
Thanks to CSH and Tim for this. All on the TC should be helping to bring this futher along. If they don't support this, vote them out.
Speaking of the mall. It's funny that the "poet" is no longer spewing blogs--- and the "sign patrol" is on vacation. Thank you.

I promise that I'll try to make it happen. But there's already strong resistance to my call for "transparency and accountability in local government."
In the meantime, I encourage you to write a letter to the editor... ask why these things are not already available on the town's website.
Letters do have an impact.
"But there's already strong resistance to my for call "transparency and accountability in local government."
I believe there is strong resistance. If the Democrats that control the council really wanted to serve the public, there would be transparency and a call to have departments and the TM to do their jobs. Instead they keep their heads in the sand and let the special interests determine what what happens and what the public is told.
The lack of openness is similar to a communist state. They don't need or want the public involved. They know what is best even if it is not best for the public.
So all the cries of of concern about shenanigans is just a bunch of bull.
