The North Block

Rep. Al Adinolfi wants to use the 400 empty beds of Cheshire's "North Block" prison (MRJ, by Leslie Hutchison).

I'll bet if Ms. Needham asked town residents after July 23 if they wanted the empty cells filled, she'd have gotten many more affirmative responses.

There should be optimal security to prevent escapes, and it's fair to ask the state for greater payments in lieu of taxes (for increased town services). But we need a 3 strikes law, and we need to permanently lock up the repeat, violent offenders.; August 26, 2007 7:11 PM
