Capital bgt vote delayed

I got the following email from Town Hall today:

To all,

After consultation with Matt Hall and Michael Ecke, the Budget Committee and Special Council meeting dates have been revised as follows:

* Monday, August 27, 2007, 7:30 p.m. - Budget Committee (jointly with Council) for review of CEP
* Tuesday, August 28, 2007, 7:30 p.m. - Budget Committee (jointly with Council) for review of CEP, if needed
* Thursday, August 30, 2007, 7:30 p.m. - Special Council meeting, including adoption of CEP

We will get the agendas out to you all ASAP. Thank you.

No word on why the delay. Frankly though, it seems odd to me. After all, we're still allowing for a meeting on Tuesday.

Tim White
Town Council, Budget Committee

The Great Cheshire Blackout continues.

Evidently the Inland Wetlands Commission walk of the Paul Bowman, Doug Calcagni and Frank DiNatali property on which the mall, hotel, and 160 apartments are to be built was held on Saturday, August 18, 2007. Needless to say the public was not informed that this meeting was being held. Probably 29,000 Cheshire residents didn't even know that there was to be a walk of the property, many of whom would have been interested in finding out where $267,000 of their taxes had been spent on the culvert and to have found out what a beautiful property is going to be paved over.

If the last IWC minutes were actually minutes, they would have included the discussion of a site visit, but this was just wasn't included and if it had been, P&Z just doesn't put these things the the established website. At the meeting, Mr. Dimmick asked Mr. Fazzone to get clearance from the owners to allow interest parties to accompany the commission on their outing. I guess the owners were not keen about having the public there.

If the public is not welcome on the site visit how about a video of the walk and meeting? This is not good PR for them (owners) but they don't care. The IWC better do their job and look out for the environment etc. If this just gets a glance over we have been taken down the river.

It was a posted public meeting and from what I understand members of the public did attend, how is that a blackout? You folks are nuts!
