Watertown development

I haven't had the time to read this entire story (WRA, by Jonathan Shugarts) yet, but thought it may be of interest. However, I did notice something about the proposed Watertown developer (Konover) offering to pay for sports fields. (boy... I wonder if that starts a conversation?)

And here's this week's Herald article (by Leslie Hutchison) on our own proposed development.

I don't want the north end project or turf. Keep Cheshire the way it is.

The only conversation that gets started is they Watertown development plan includes sports fields because the project will not be financially successful and this is a way to sooth the people who do not want the development. The hope is if the developer throws a bone to all in the Town maybe the plan will be better received.

The Watertown development idea has created a public outcry and a group that opposes the idea. So it is just not people in Cheshire that oppose this particular type of development.
