No......Obviously Mr. Ceccolini doesnt give a hoot what the people in this town want considering we rejected borrowing the money two years ago to complete the trail Asking the stat for the money is no different as it still comes from taxpayer dollars. Thsi is an unncessary luxury. That money could be better spend by the state. Mr. Ceccolini shoudl be embarrassed and quite frankly I am getting pretty disgusted with the so called leadership and management in this town. Most of whom should likely be replaced or unemployed at this point.

Maybe Schrumm told Ceccolini to speak?

GWS opposes retail in the northend, but supports the trail as "economic development."

Schrumm can make good sense, but not on this.

The hidden agenda is development of West Main Street at any cost and lets find anybody willing to pay the bill. This is all nuts. The people said no to the referendum, no is the answer. Of course some of those who said no to the referendum will say yes if the State pays because they are not smart enough to figure out who really is paying for it. For those of you who can't figure out the riddle it is the Dem's on the Town Council.

dumb elephant, you hate Schrumm. But learn the history of the town.

Schrumm has done good things.

Orsini is not like Schrumm.

This attitude would be like one of a bunch of alcoholics saying

"Someone is going to drink that bottle of vodka anyway so it might as well be me"

Actually, one of the reasons the the $900,000 to expand the park was turned by residents was the fact the town had not applied for matching funding used succesful in the past and the saftey issue of crossing West Main. What would be most helpful if Mr. Ceccolini would get the state depatment of transportation it assit with the path when it needs to cross state highways, such as West Main.

you think our politicians aren;t drunk on spending....put down your own bottle

I see a mill going down the drain trying to make Cheshire look like a Gold Coast town.

We'd have more money for real needs if we stopped wasting it on cosmetics and esthetics

The Dems are drunk on the state money? Could be. It is Schrumm's pet project, he wants it done at all costs. He thinks that he is smarter than the people and he should decide not them. Spending is OK for his projects but on anything else.

As for the state money we can say no and reject the funding. Of course some other town will take it, I am sure of that. Maybe they can put a sign in front of their project that says, "Paid for by money rejected by the Town of Cheshire, thank you Cheshire." Great idea, until we change Hartford money will be wasted. Maybe people that post here with all the great ideas should run for state office and make a difference, I would help you. Note Schrumm tried once and lost maybe it is time for him to try again?

Good gosh you would think that this was extra tax money-towns can't pay for all projects by themselves neither can states. This is our tax money and if towns want it then why not let them have it. The big problem is that the trail money was asked by one person and not the people. When the field turf was requested it was by the council and the citizens who were in that room that day. Trail was rejected by the people bc of safety issues. Turf has no safety problems will actually serve more Chehsire residents and has much more widespread citizen support.

the same folks who want the lin trail money and want to sell it as bogus short sighted and mickey mouse economic development are the same "free market' thinkers who don't want the free market to exist in the north end bc they did not think of it at first and it means that they will look like pipsqueeks compared to the bold action and progresive opponents. Time to grow up old timer and get with it. The people want it an it will work very well-just enough retail and just enough residential and we have got it!
Gong-think again
Get with it old timer!
Bong-thanks for the memories!
ERRT you are gone

funding for the trail is only a want for the tiny minority who feel that this project will be the economic answer-what a joke
We can do better
we have to have better

So tired of hearing negative comments about Mr. Schrumm. Little do you know all the good he's done for this town. Such a cowardly way to criticize. Good thing many of us keep our negative remarks to ourselves when it comes to some of the dems on the tc. It would be really rude to say Ms. Visconti is just a no-nothing little miss niceness; or that Ms. Esty just loves to ramble on and on repeating the same sh t over and over. Or how about Alterie and his pet turf project. He only wants to spend money on his projects. It would be really rude if we all made these comments about your fellow dems, so why don't you knock it off with your rude remarks - that is of course unless you like being cowards.

9:01 You're right, the truth hurts. 10:59 is right about those dems.

My oh my we have a wonderful trail and I use it all the time-but I am afraid if we extend it up to that busy intersection it will be very hard to cross. I don't walk very fast but crossing that street will be scary for me. Maybe we should not do anything until we can build a nice covered bridge.

Cheese and crakers this seems to be a wonderful place to chat but sometimes when I see those meetings on tv I want to say "let's all get along here girls and boys"

Maybe we should build a trail around the pool? Just an idea, that the Rep. could support at any cost.
