Obama already acting like Bush?

Sounds like Obama is going take office in January and immediately begin his best impersonation of the outgoing President Bush.

The APs Stephen Ohlemacher is reporting:

President-elect Obama plans to use his executive powers to make an immediate impact when he takes office...

Presidents long have used executive orders to impose policy and set priorities....

Executive orders "have the power of law and they can cover just about anything," Tobias said in a telephone interview.

I truly hope the the 111th Congress doesn't turn into another Rubber Stamp Congress, such as the Vietnam-era Congress that passed the Gulf of Tonkin resolution which was based on bogus information... or the more recent GOP Congress that passed the Patriot Act... or the current Democratic Rubber Stampers that approved the anti-Constitutional FISA bill and the dollar-destroying Billionaire Bankers' Bailout.

But I'm guessing that Pelosi and Reid will follow the lead of most Congresses before them - they'll allow the Chief Executive to assert whatever authority he claims is necessary for "the good of the republic."

I don't understand why it's so hard for Chief Executives to defer to the legislative body for authority. IMO, the two houses of Congress are elected to write and pass law. The Administration is elected to administer - not write - law.

Nobody cares about doing what is right for our country. It's always what is on their agenda (both parties). This is wrong and why it turns many people away from politcs.
