Ron Paul on the Daily Show tonight

Comedy Central at 11pm... I think it's channel 40 on Cheshire's Cox.

Tim
Why do you love this guy? He is going nowhere.

He's the only candidate running for President who, IMO, takes an oath to the Constitution and upholds that oath in its true form.

I don't agree with him on everything, but at least I know where he stands. He doesn't mince words.

And I really do believe that America needs to address our $60trillion in unfunded liabilities and begin to deal with it. Ron Paul acknowledges it and wants to deal with it. I don't recall having heard any other R acknowledge it... though I may have missed it.

As well... about China... at a certain point, they will probably ask America to define what is meant by our banking system's phrase "good faith and credit."

IF they ask that question... then at that point... if America hasn't at least begun to address the $60trillion in unfunded liabilities... there could be major consequences.

So I feel we need a President who will tackle the big issues... not someone who is going to kick the can down the road.

I'd be open-minded to the other candidates, but who among them is seriously addressing this issue? I really don't know.

One more thing... in speaking to his always principled stances on the issues...

Since he returned to Congress in 1996 (he was there in the 70s/80s), he has been consistently ignored by Newt & Delay when they've tried to count votes. He's also consistently ignored by lobbyists.

Why?

They know he votes his conscience every time.

I wish all my elected officials voted that way.

Congressman Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate who's addressing our $50 Trillion liability and our $10 Trillion debt.

That was John McCain's big issue in 2000, but he doesn't speak much of it in 2007. Neither do the other candidates. Yet this will be the defining issue of our children’s economic inheritance in the next 20+ years.

I don't know whom to support for president. I'd like to see the Republicans return to no-debt, fiscally conservative policies. But it may be too late.

The U.S. dollar is already worthless fiat paper, overloaded with debt and obligations. In fundamental terms, this portends for hyperinflation. Better to invest long in gold and farmland.

Tim, you once said that Cheshire is among the highest debtor towns in the highest debtor state in the highest debtor nation in the world. Thank you for doing your part to reverse spendaholic practices locally. You've got my vote.
