Sorry... having html issues...

The state Senate passed the budgethttp://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc-statebud0626.artjun26,0,900524.story 33-1. Cheshire's junior state Senator, Sam Caligiuri opposed the budget for what seems to be a simple reason... taxes do not equal spending. And to me, that seems like a perfectly sensible reason to oppose the budget. Hats off to Sam for that vote.

And related to the Council... wow... I don't even feel the need to discuss Shenanigate... although others are definitely talking about it. I heard some very choice comments today, but I think the most interesting comment I heard today was unrelated to the not-yet-completed Shenanigate (remember... it was sent to the Ordinance Review Committee)...

Someone here in town said "Tim, I was watching the meeting. Why doesn't the Town Manager answer your questions? It's as if I asked you what time you were going to bed. And you answered 'the sky is blue.'"

If you're not busy tomorrow night... the Town Council Personnel Committee will be holding another meeting on the Town Manager's annual review. Also the Republican Town Committee will be meeting in Town Hall. I think both meetings start at 7:30pm, but if you're interested in the Personnel meeting... call Town Hall to confirm the time and to find out if it's expected to happen in executive session.

What else is happening? Anyone have any predictions on the final outcome to Shenanigate?

Tim White

more people care about the Strathmore dam than the silly squabble over scrivener's errors...and what are you guys going to do to protect homeowners, not your own image?

In all honesty Tim, it is a waste of time for anyone in town to attend meetings and stand on an issue. If you do not know someone in town or are a council member, we are nothing. To be on committees, you need to be friends, to get things done you need to have money. We pay so much in taxes and this is what we get.

Tim you need to stop your one man attack on the town manager. You look like you are on a witch hunt and there are not witches. Stick to the energy commission and the stuff like that. You are starting to lose my vote my man.

My prediction on the final outcome of Shenanigate...Ordinance review committee will suggest a copy of any corrections be copied to the dem and rep nominating committee chairs along with a copy to the chairman of the TC.

Tim, While the procedures for recording/correcting terms is being reviewed by the ordinance committee, perhaps the "code of conduct" of town council members should be reviewed also. It seems shocking to me (if I can use Esty's words) that a council person can publicly drag someone's name through the mud and simply get away with it! Shame on her - she should be the one to suffer some consequences.

"more people care about the Strathmore dam"

All you seem to care about is what happens to your own property. It doesn't seem like you care about what happens in the northend. Hell, it's not in my back yard. When you and the rest of the town wake up and find what they do in the 400 acres of the interchange zone and the number of children that will flood our schools, maybe you'd start to be concerned about what the developers do in the rest of Cheshire. Just don't complain later about your tax bill either. The boys from W/C and the other mall and apartment builders are going to cook you up a real surprise.

Now, about your problem. If the town takes it over, then the rest of Cheshire should have total access to the property, but if you only want to take our tax money, put up your "Private Keep Off" and not allow access, then I'm totally against the town spending any money on the damn dam.

You sound like someone on the inside pretending to be a regular joe. I don't think Tim has a witch-hunt'ish bone in his body. From what I've seen he's level-headed, fact-oriented, and works hard to keep things transparent.

CSH... thanks for the support.

the more I watch the more I see that the Republicans were trying to manipulate the terms of the WPCA members and they were going to use that board to stop the north end. Just because they packed the room it does not mean that they were right

Tim White is a saint just to sit on the same side of the town council table with those three stooges that call themselves Republicans.

If the Republicans are the three stooges then the Democrates are the court jesters. The Republicans made fools out of them at the Council meeting.

I wasn't surprised to see Justin Adinolfi get up and say he still wanted the investigation to go on and by that time he was the only person in the room that didn't get it. There never was a need for an investigation. Then he said he is thinking of running for the council. He doesn't get that either, he's done.

We need people of integrity who will work for the people of Cheshire and who will work to keep Cheshire as a good place to live.

He's gone out of his way to help the developers of the northend, with his phoney petitions, bogus polls and he work hard ingratiate himself to the developers. There are already too many Council people and staff that are ready to do the developer's bidding.

Justin Adinolfi had to get a pitch in that he's thinking of running for town council - like anyone cares. All I have to say is "stick a fork into him he's cooked".

" better care about my own proeprty. No one in town government has for 30 years"

Change your name to Bowman or Calcagni and ask for an emergency meeting. Buda Bing, mission accomplished.

Justin beats Rucco.

YOU HAVE TO BE JOKING!!!!

Justin is a very smart person who has already beaten Rucco and if he did not work out of town would have beaten him last year too.

"Justin is a very smart person"

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha.........................

Cheshire is controlled by the developers and the other special interests. Take back our government and don't vote for any Dem on the council.

Tell them Cheshire does not need 400 acres of malls and apartments.

I agree that the republicans will take the council back!! This is our year, we will win.

Matt Hall's letter today in the Herald was the longest letter that I have read that said absolutely nothing.

Matt Hall's letter to Herald

Why didn't he look at what P&Z commission is doing. It's not a process, its totally confusing, the town lawyer isn't even there. Talk about something that is being manipulated, this certainly is. The town planner adds to the confusion and has mislead the members on many points with his opinions. Why are they always talking about W/S's proposal rather than the changes to the town plan and how it would affect the entire town and then talk about the zone changes that would affect the entire 400 acres zone. Why do they have to keep checking with W/S if any of their new wording is O'K with them? In effect W/S is writing both documents exactly as they would want them with a minimum of restraints written in.

Why don't they ask town department heads and state experts for input?

The entire text change on both the Town Plan and the Zone Changes should be rejected until a real process is developed to address changes of this magnitude.

The way they are doing this is totally unacceptable. Nobody in the business world would do things like this.
