Update: A Conversation With The Cheshire Herald

8:43:00 - Let's not be silly. Generally speaking, they do a great job, and I'm really thankful that we have an independent paper in town.

That being said, I think it's our responsibility to let the local media know that we expect the best.

speaking of the herald
Sue Zentek's letter was a real joke
urging all councilors to be open minded
Her heros on the council like schrumm and orsini are two of the most closed minded people in town or in the state
talk of the idea of open minded
give me a break

The guy who writes the stupid rhymes is probably stuffing the digital ballot box at the CH

10:27,
I have no doubt he is. And it's the same guy who posted 8:43. I've come to recognize his style and his MO. He's the same guy who boasted of ripping down signs. He's been called childish, a boor, and a shill elsewhere in these pages, and he is.

Yes I know who he is and he is for the north end development
I think we should run him out of town

9:39 So let's see how fair and unbiased Esty is - She purposely and publicly accuses the town clerk of shenanigans, drags her name through the mud, publicly states that she believes all her accusations are true, didn't have the decency to apologize (until she was forced to otherwise she wouldn't have).
Read the charter - Esty doesn't fit the description of a fair unbiased or open minded councilor. She had the woman guilty from the start.

Of course maybe you're like her...I see you won't even put your name to your post.

Sue, thank you for your letter in the CH, and thanks for this. Ms. Esty thinks she'll be elected state rep, but her shameful defamation of character should cause all fair minded people to take notice.

And yes, 9:39 (8:43) is a coward besides being a boorish, loudmouthed partisan shill. But he'll never be a state rep, or anything more than his current position: a sycophant in the company of much greater minds.

The people of Cheshire deserve better than what they have gotten from their Town Council, P&Z and local paper and they should have their opinions heard and not be misrepresented by fake polls designed by non-caring people or people with hidden agendas. It's a crime to mislead people on a subject of this importance that will change the character of the town and the lives of the residents forever.

Key ingredients of a meaningful poll are:

Are the participants well informed on the subject.

Are the participants randomly selected.

Is the sampling statistically accurate.

An idea for a select one of the following that is the closest to your thoughts, could be something like this:

1. Should the entire I/C 400 acre zone to be developed into malls, stores and housing?

2. Should the entire I/C 400 acre zone be developed like our current industrial park?

3. Should the state buy the entire 400 acres and make the environmentally sensitive areas into a state park, and develop the remaining into an industrial park?

4. Change the town plan and the I/C zone back to what they were?

I think there should be an investigation of these polls
This is an outrage
The attorney general should investigate
Our democracy is at stake
Now I say now>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Criminal charges have actually be made and people convicted for rigging polls.

Meriden Record Article by Hutchinson

W/S plans first hotel in interchange. Wow! Can you believe it? Did W/S just find out about this? TIt must of been a surprise to them, as this is the first time it has come up.

How many more hotels Ms Hutchinson? Had you asked the hard questions instead of attacking the people who wanted to leave the zoning alone so that it would produce good jobs and good tax revenue, you may have found this out early in the game.

If Ms Hutchinson and other reporters had worked to inform the people, the zone change may never have happened.

Yes the press should be put on trial for actually reporting the news
this should be a big investigation
WS should be put on trial for trying to make money

Your one of the PAve Cheshire Over group that doesn't care about anything other than stuffing your wallet. Screw everyone else to make a buck.

Anonymous said...

There also should be an investigation to see if it legal to actually run a business and make money
I thought we lived in a communist country where the govt controls the ability of people to make money
If you don't want to see the land developed then buy it yourself
Otherwise let the process take place
jack the ripper signing off

Those poll questions are spot-on. Well done.

It's late in the game, but I'd love to see the results from question set like that. Perhaps Quinnipiac University could be petitioned for assistance?

Money magazine just named North Haven in their top 100 towns to live in
They have plenty of retail
I guess just a little retail in cheshire will make it a bad town to live in

Tim White said...

I thought it was North Haven that had officials indicted on corruption only a few mos ago?

"" guess just a little retail in cheshire will make it a"

Just a little? Sure 400 acres of malls is a little. What a bunch of crap. All you people do is lie, mislead, and cheat. Your a real bottom feeder. Go tear down some more signs.

I'm not sure I'd buy into the Money magazine criteria anyhow. I'm far too fond of the bedding plant capital of Connecticut, and that's a place with a distinctly rural character.

We should open up a camp x-ray type place like at gitmo for all the ws supporters
that is the american way

What difference would the polling make. They do what they want.$$$$$$

"What difference would the polling make"

You can see the result of what fake polls do. W/S must be pretty happy with the Cheshire Herald as their fake polls were instrumental in the approval process. Even Sean Strollo quoted the fake results during a key P&Z deliberation meeting and indicated that that was a reason for his support. So, polls do matter. The Cheshire Herald polls were highly effective.

You missed the last sentence of my comment. They do what they want.

The Cheshire Herald continues their attack on the town clerk. Again the Herald shows extremely bad judgement in publishing an obvious political attack by Dipeitro. Can you imagine the underhandedness that can result by the Dipietro's candidate running this office. We could expect the same as we got from the P&Z on the Northend.
