Ending corruption

Contrary to the conventional blogosphere wisdom, Governor Rell hasn't ruled out running for another four year term (NHR, by George Hladky). And near the end of the article is the line:

The signal Rell says she is trying to send to both state officials and the public is, such corruption "won’t be tolerated."
I certainly appreciate that. And I think she's serious. The person (Linda Yelmini) Gov. Rell is bringing in to clean house at the CT State Police is using strong rhetoric. Ms. Yelmini was recently quoted saying that the wrong-doers at the CSP should "fear" her.

With supermajorities controlling the legislature, I have my doubts about how much Gov. Rell will be able to control spending. But if she can make headway in ending the reign of the "good ole boy" network, I'll be extremely pleased.

But corruption at the State Police has been "tolerated" and Rell hasn't even acknowledged that some of it happened even after she took over.

The philosophical question can any end corruption.

The answer is no!

That is as crrazy as trying to stop homelessness, drug abuse, terrorist. What people fail to recognize is that their will always be bad apples. Isnt' that why we have lawsd and prisons.

Rell won't tolerate corruption but she will praise Lisa Moody? Sounds like the old double standard to me!!!

We have laws and prisons but unfortunatley the state cops that have violated our laws will never answer to the law or go to prison for violating the law because Boyle and Lynch beleive that their department, which is charged to enforce the law, are above the law regardless of what they do that violates it.

The bad guys need to be punished. And the good guys (both officers and incorrectly arrested citizens) need to be exonerated.

if you read the NYSP report you'd realize the evidence that would show anything criminal happened wasn't preserved. the report went after the process and procedures that suck. no bad cops will be punished criminally - take that to the bank!!!

You know why are anonymous...because Ms. Moody and Ms. Yelmini in the name of protecting their benevolent and loved leader Gov. Rell, have taken the art of destroying people for their own benefit to a new level. Rowland taught them well.....
