9-0 Democratic Council

George W. Schrumm leads his party to defeat.

Orsini and Ruocco MIGHT win on the Italian vote. Ever notice that 4 of 9 Councilors are Italian? Or that 3 of 5 legislators are Italian?

Italian Democrats win.

who does that guy think he is...Michael Corleone?

I doubt very much that being Italian garnered Adinolfi or Caligiuri many votes

Any council member who supports the current Milone plan disguised as a product of the Senior Tax Relief Study group will not be re-elected.

The West Main Street project will not continue, it will be rejected.

The North End project will stop as it will raise taxes too much and the people will not stand for this.

A new political party will form, driven by residents who are tired of the other two parties not focusing on spending restraints. This party will put up for election very strong candidates and will win two seats on the Council.

The pool consultant will report it will take 5 million to fix the pool.

My predictions are that we're going to see a much larger tax increase this year than last year. The dems and the entire council all said last year's budget cycle was a "windfall year". I also unfortunately expect the democratic council to inform us all that it's going to cost the taxpayers a lot more money to keep the pool running and get it back on course. Maybe it should go out to referendum so the voters can decide what to do with it.
I also expect the superintendent to request another 3 to 4 million in his budget proposal. That would be in keeping with what they always want - note the word "want". (I'd like to know if they spent the $275K they just got on 55 new smartboards?? Anyone know?)
Although I don't predict this to happen, I'd like to see the boe & town budgets more scrutinized this coming year. Especially the boe's budget as I doubt if you ask some of the board members that they'd really be able to say they know exactly how all the money is spent. I've seen more in depth questions from the few people in the public that actually attend all the budget meetings.

I predict a turn around for the CHS football team. Now that the old head coach has been forced out and this past season his last, the new head coach can build the team back into the winning team they once were.
Go Rams!

Vickie Nardello will file a bill to raise the state income tax to 7% to fund the forced busing of urban kids and illegal aliens to suburban schools. She'll also sneak through legislation to allow dental hygienists to perform dentistry and exempt them from malpractice lawsuits.

When taxpayers organize to resist these measures, she'll accuse them of "negative campaigning." Then they'll begin to ask themselves, "What were we thinking?!"

Is Abbate running for Council?

Anonymous said...

I don't know Abbate, but have heard that he is running.

The Republicans are going to run Richard Abbate?

Schrumm, Orsini, Ruocco and Abbate. The Democrats will be laughing all the way to a landslide in November.

Who else are the Republicans going to add to this group? Tod Dixon?

It is not the people running but the ideas. I think, with the addition of Todd D., they would win based on ideas alone. The Dems have to go before they destroy this town and all that the Rep. built up. Hall and Ecke have to go now!!!

I agreee these Dems. are not taking this town in the rigth direction. Do they think we want a shopping mall in the north end? I think that the Rep. will win the next election. They will force the BOE to take less money, they will keep taxes low and they will stop the growth of the police and fire departments. It is time for us not to cut spending but to slash it. Cheshire is out of control and only D.S. can stop it. The time is now ELECT the R's. Kick out the the taxing D's.

You guys are dreaming. The republican lineup is like the 62 Mets for god sake. The Democracts will maintain the majority and will continue to lead the Cheshire in the right direction.
Go Dems Go.

Dick W Schrumm is going to be defeated next time because he has pissed off too many voters

George W Schrumm will lose next time. He's not a fiscal conservative. He spends like a drunken sailor on the pool.

I'm not in her district, but Visconti is honest about spending money and not caring about taxes.
