Wiese Road & Buckland Drive

I drove by Wiese Road this morning. It looked like the CPD has done a good job controlling the traffic situation as youth baseball kicks off their season... which, btw, it seemed like everyone there was having fun... beautiful day outside.

I also stopped by Buckland Drive to ask residents if they have an opinion on the Richmond Glen / Serenity Ranch easement. I spoke with a few people and they said that everyone there is talking / emailing about the road. Hopefully the Council will get some feedback from residents before we vote to grant an easement in exchange for $10. I figure the least the Council can do is have a discussion about the easement before we increase the Town's non-environmentally-friendly impervious surfaces.

Also, I've been reading the PZC minutes on Richmond Glen / Serenity Ranch from 2005. Based on what I've read so far, several members said throughout the process that they were "on the fence" in terms of whether the proposed development was worthwhile. That suggests to me that all nine Council members will likely see merits for and against. But the near total lack of discussion is unacceptable.

Those signs went up a year ago.. how did you drive down Weise Rd 2 weeks ago and miss them? OR did you lie about driving it and only heard that it was repaved?

huh? What signs? My post doesn't mention any signs.

FWIW though, I did drive Wiese two weeks ago. Why would I bother to lie about that? That makes no sense to me.

But if you're inferring something from my words, then two weeks ago I drove Wiese (starting at Creamery / Country Club, from Paul's Restaurant, if I recall correctly)... and today I drove up Eastgate (coming from the library). On Eastgate I noticed signs that I'm guessing have not been out a year.

Times have changed since Serenity Ranch or whatever is is called now got approvals from some commissions. Global warming is now universally accepted, the econom,y is in the toilet, the town and state budgets are inserious shape, the pwnsion fund has tanked, unemployment is at 9%, the housing market is still soft and getting softer and limper, and Brodch now wants the town to provide sewer hookup for $10.

In light of the new world we are in, this project should have to go through all the commissions again. Adding more expense to an already over taxed town is crazy.

I thought the ten bucks was for the rights to use the land, not to hookup to the sewer system

This single tax payer would be one unhappy voter if in fact this town spent that kind of money in anticipation of yet one more developer scheme which after years of scheming seems no closer to successful implementation. I think you have no basis for your comment but if you do why not post a link to the supporting documents?

Anon 1:16- in a small town like this....you don't necessarily need a smoking document to get the real story....it passes word of mouth. Not sure if that is the case here but I am sure Mr DV has his contacts.

It was just a thought that I had. I have no proof that anything is connected. I should have worded that posting better to avoid confusion. I just thought that it was coincidence that the road was rebuilt after the P&Z approved the development and finished right before the developer asked for the right of way. (easment)

Coincidence? Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha...............................
The developers love the coincidence makers.
Cheshire has a long history of coincidences and that's why so many people vote against referendum items such as the Mixville punp station.
