It appears that the Democrats are about to nominate a pop-star for president on the basis of his charismatic persona alone.
The real problem with his lack of experience is his lack of any serious track record upon which to judge him. Has our culture become so Hollywoodized and superficial that we would propel such an unknown, untested pop-star to the highest office in the land?
Why not? Look at Bush, why on earth was he elected? His track record was a series of failed business dealings that ultimately required dad bailing him out. At least Obama has a track record of successes. For a change we'll have a president with intelligence. Maybe he'll get us out of this $1 billion a week fiasco in Iraq.
Pointing to Bush's past record of failed business dealings as a reason to propel yet another unknown, untested candidate into the presidency is hardly a strong reason to vote for Obama.
And what "record of success" does Obama have in his three short years in Congress? He's an empty suit -- all style, no substance. And the thoughtless masses are falling for it.
I believe chris murphy, rosa delauro, john larson, and ted kennedy support Obama for their own personal agenda. They want to appear as if they are for change and hope to convince people that they are will work for change when in fact they are just politicians trying to stay in office.
