Solution for fund balance tax hike

According to the MRJ, Southington is considering the formation of a special tax district... and this would not be precedent-setting.

Special tax districts are relatively rare in Connecticut. They have been formed in just a handful of municipalities, including Derby, Bridgeport, Redding, East Lyme and most recently, Stamford (by Leslie Hutchison).

I'm thinking that if our legislators attend next week's Council meeting, perhaps I'll ask for a special tax district in Cheshire.

We could form a district that would encompass any household that voted in favor of increasing taxes in the name of a Big Government "fund balance policy."

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to tax we go!
