Council mtg 2/26

It's nearly 1am and I'm too tired to write a blog on tonight's meeting. In the meantime, here's the NHRs take on tonight's discussion about the pool and an article about the financial software that was scheduled to be discussed tonight (both by Luther Turmelle).

Tomorrow night I'll try to post on tonight's meeting.

Would it be cheaper to build a new pool in the long run?

My God, what is going on in this town?
It is scary.
$220,000 to buy a software then realize it isn't working the way they want?? Who was responsible for checking into the software in the first place?
If I wasted that kind of money in my job I would be fired.

$1 million to $5 million for a permanent structure? Lets hope it is closer to the former. In the long run, it will be the best solution and we may need to bite the bullett, but if we have administrators wasting money the way they did on the software, then we will be in huge hole.

How did the TM let this happen? Where are the controls?

Do we award contracts that don't have any conditions that require things to work? Who is responsible for reviewing and signing this contract?

It certainly sounds like there were some shenanigans and I hope Elizabeth Estey gets an investigation going to insure that this doesn't keep happening over and over and over.

I'm tired of hearing about the pool. In the private sector this problem would not take this long to fix. What's the problem? Fix it or close it. Come on enough is enough. I hope the TC majority can fast track this process as they do others..... My recomendation is to build a new one because most of what is left needs some type of repair. Come on and get your feet wet.
