Wolcott rejects projects

More than 1,500 voters went to the polls Saturday to vote on the $3.8 million communication center. The project was rejected by 23 votes, 787-810...

Meanwhile, Mayor Thomas G. Dunn's proposal to bond $3.2 million for a major road paving project was soundly defeated, 1,077 to 508. (WRA)

Earlier this year, while some CT referenda have passed, soccer fields were rejected in Middletown and a turf field was rejected in Seymour. Across the state, spending is a real concern for the voters.

Unnecessary spending is very important to the taxpayers, but the supporters of the NE don't care what it will cost us. And, they go out of their way to prevent this cost information from us.

putting a stop to the million dollar sidewalk on West Main would be a start

"million dollar sidewalk"

What a waste of money. Since the property owners will benefit, they should fix up their own properties.

Nobody is going to walk from business to business here. It just doesn't have the businesses that you would want to go from one to another. They're the kind of businesses that you want to go to just one of them, so you drive to it, do your business and then drive away. If I go to Anderson Tires for something, there is nothing that would tempt me to walk to while I'm waiting. Go look at these businesses and you'll see what I mean.

Voters are feeling the pinch from all the high prices including taxes. They now realize that state money is not free and is part of their tax dollars (deducted from their paycheck). This should make them vote differently in Nov.
