My tolerance level

I try to be a tolerant person. Oftentimes, as a member of the Council, I've seen town employees take action with which I disagreed. But rather than get upset, I asked questions, learned the perspective of others and concluded that what was done... was done in good faith.

However, this (town side) budget has proven a bit different. Similar to a few years ago when I asked "How many teachers do we have?," I've been asking questions this year, but not getting reasonable answers. I've become quite disillusioned with the process. I do not think it is representing the best interests of the voters and taxpayers... just read my prior posts on the budget. Basically, I'm just sick and tired of the runaround and can no longer tolerate the calls by town staff to continually raise taxes when it is obviously not for the greater good of the community. So...

I'm going to resign.

Tim White
Town Council, 4th District

Is that the "W" I think it is?

Tim!! We need you ask tough questions. Government is not a club.

Our local govt leaders would welcome this. They do not want to be asked questions by anybody. Their arrogance is so huge they publically insult and humiliate people when they ask questions. In some cases, such as the Supt of Schools, he refuses to answer some questions. The citizens should start to request answers to questions and hold these people accountable by refusing to be quiet until the answers are given.

A sensible citizens' policy for all levels of government, really, with one small but important modification: demand honest answers.

If this was meant to be an April Fools joke then you need to resign. If you are serious then we are going to be better off. It has become clear for a long time ever since you made the deal with Sheldon Dill and the democrats you are really a democrat. To exchange your votes for support from the Dems for your State election was a sin. Help us all and get out of politics, you no longer can be trusted.

If this is an April Fool's joke it is of bad taste.

You are going to resign?
Good. You can join the Club for Spineless Politicians.
Shelly Dill started it.....and is still its president.

Who's the "spineless politician" here who posts the last comment anonymously and doesn't have the courage to state his opinion in his own name?

At least Tim White and Sheldon Dill are upfront about all their views and reasoning. Other council members might learn a few social skills from them.

You are no better than the rest of Council. How appropriate it was that one of the biggest "fools" on Town Council should threaten to resign on April Fool's Day.

Do everyone a favor and honor your April Fool's threat--resign!

WOW! The insults fall like rain. I think it would be really nice if all of you would take a step back and SHUT UP!
