Office hours
This evening, Avon Blvd posted the following...
I see that our state rep, Vickie Nardello, held public office hours in Prospect four weeks ago on March 24. But she hasn't held any office hours in Cheshire or Bethany.
Doesn't she want to hear our concerns too? Or does she only talk to Cheshire and Bethany voters when she's running for re-election?

Actually, I knew about it and was going to ignore it, but since it was mentioned... here's an excerpt of the text taken directly from her press release "Hartford – Senator Joan Hartley (D-Waterbury) and Representative Vickie Nardello (D-Prospect) have announced plans to hold office hours this Saturday to provide constituents in Prospect with an opportunity to meet with them to discuss various state and local issues." I have no idea why "office hours" haven't also been held in Bethany and Cheshire... seems appropriate to me.

You lost to her get over it man!!
Tim, ignore the first post. You’re not being sour grapes at all by reporting this info. You’ve hardly said anything negative about her since the election.
The fact is that Ms. Nardello hasn’t announced hours to meet with Cheshire and Bethany residents. Why not?
She’s obviously more comfortable in her own home town.
She’s supposed to represent all three towns of her district, not just her own town.
We don’t see much of her around Prospect either. We’ve met her, and she doesn’t seem comfortable with regular people. My wife says she uses scripted policy-talk as a “defense”.
Vickie’s most comfortable with fellow politicians, lobbyists and bureaucrats. She only showed up in Bethany neighborhoods last fall, thanks to Tim White’s challenge. It was the first time in 12 years we saw her.
I don't know........everytime I have emailed or called her, she responded.....it might not have been the response I was looking for, but I have to say she was available to hear my concerns....just my 2 cents....
I’m one Cheshire Democrat who voted for Tim White for this very reason (plus his farsighted positions on energy).
The first and only time I’ve ever seen Vickie Nardello in Cheshire was last year when she was asking for votes. But Tim makes a real effort to communicate with voters year ‘round, not just at election time.
She has to go, Tim you must run again!!!!!
As a former legislative aide to another Rep, I can tell you that Rep. Nardello broke the #1 rule for multi-town legislators. She should have simultaneously announced office hours for all three towns, then held them on three consecutive Saturdays. I’m surprised she didn’t do this, given her 13 long years of legislative experience.
Watch her scramble and suddenly announce she’ll have office hours in Bethany and Cheshire. How genuine is that?
You lost stop making her out to be some kind of legislator that does not do her work. She does.
She does her work alright....just not for the people of her district. Too busy working to shift money from the towns to the Hartford public schools, etc, to meet with folks in Bethany and Cheshire.
She may return her calls and emails, and she may work hard in Hartford. But the bottom line is that she held meeting hours for Prospect residents specifically, and not for Cheshire or Bethany residents. That’s just not right.
The previous poster hit the bottom line: she held meeting hours for Prospect...and not for Cheshire or Bethany residents. That’s just not right. It will be interesting to see if Redtown's prediction comes true.
The woman does very little and is seen only in Cheshire come electiuon time......its a shame voters were too stupid to reelect her....
To paraphrase Winston Churchill in writing about one of his predecessors--
"If you wanted nothing done, Vickie Nardello was the best one for the task. There was no equal to her."
You lost to her-now get over it and deal with it Mr Tim!!!!!!

yes tim lost, but its not him who's complaining. you can't say anything else because you can't justify that NARDELLO SNUBBED CHESHIRE & BETHANY on public office hours.
either try to justify it, or spare us the broken record.
Do I see some bbitterness over the loss
