Party infighting

Cheshire's senior state Senator, Tom Gaffey, is butting heads within his own party in Meriden (MRJ, by Amanda Falcone). Interesting thing is... Meriden Dems are fighting over turf! Democratic BOE Chairman, Brian Kogut was quoted:

"It's nice to get things, but who pays?" Kogut said. "There's no free money."

In response
Gaffey said that by questioning the state funding, Kogut was "biting the hand that feeds him."
Forget about the turf for a second, does anyone find that comment by Sen. Gaffey troubling?

Of course the statement is troubling; any person that thinks money from the State is free shuld run for a political office; because they have no sense of reality.

That is how the state has decided to dole out the money. You can cry about it or you can get some things for your community.

Thanks for all your intelligent insights on this. Now I see why we will never fix this problem.

I have a question for you.
Would you put a penny in an empty vending machine too?

Chris's fate is in Nancy Pelosi's hands. Infortunatetly he doesn't mind holding hands with Nancy. We live in a very blue state so he can push a liberal and anti Bush/Iraq agenda and get away with it at least through 2 terms. No matter how good Sam is Chris is in the congressional lock box...our Connecticut tradition 8 to 10 two year terms.

I for one find that statement very troubling. When the state spends money how can anyone think its free and their not ultimately paying for it.
