Tim,
I'm new to your blog, so you may have been doing this for some time, but publishing the agenda for the upcoming town council meeting is fascinating and informative. Thanks for contributing to "open government."

Are there any strings attached to the donation from the Archdiocese of Hartford?

Hi Tim, thanks for posting the agenda! How about including a request for a barite fund in the legislative package? It almost made it last year and our mines haven't gone away! Diane V

Can you explain the pupose of the legislative package? With the exception of item B.2, all of the items are about preserving or enhancing the town's revenue stream from the State. I'm pretty sure if you took a poll among residents, none of these items (with the exception of B.2) would likely make a list of top voter concerns.
If this is the Town Manager's wish list and his list alone, then I guess I understand it.

forget infrastructure bonding for towns, Gaffey's girlfriend glommed up all the bond money available for the next decade

none of which I'm aware.

DDV... I'll see what I can do. But you know as well as I do that there are some people who sit behind the desk who have a very different view of government than you and I do.

1) an opportunity to convey Cheshire's concerns so that the state delegation can advocate for the best interest of Cheshire?

or

2) an opportunity for ruminations and bloviations?

lol.

I see "school construction" is included in "D". Is this for actual building improvements/construction or is it a request for turf field funds??

When are we going to stop all these contracts with groups. This is not sound business. Let them donate the money to the town for that purpose and we can name the "whatever" after the group due to their donation but the town should build, pick vendors etc. The town will be responsible if someone gets hurt on our property.
