ICMA on CPD tomorrow; Management withholding information?
The meeting is to occur on the second floor in Town Hall tomorrow night. So I don't expect it to be televised. The more interesting tidbit though is that the Town's failed management continues in their typical fashion of withholding information from the Council.
I understand the Police Union President has been suspended from work with pay.
Call me crazy, but if I were Management I would kinda mention that to the Council. Say... maybe an email? Or maybe that's too complicated?
Oh, oh... wait... I know... after Management sees this blog, then they'll advise the Council that it wasn't mentioned because it is a "personnel issue." But then, Management doesn't read this blog.
Or maybe Management will claim to have "forgotten" to mention the suspension to the Council. I've heard that line before. Reminds me of this classic exchange between Rep. Dan Burton and Ben Bernanke. Scroll to the 3:10 mark and listen for about 20 seconds or so:
I'm so tired of this BS. And so you know, I still don't see any direct reporting relationship between the Council and the Chief... though there is a direct relationship between the Council and the TM. I think that is where the Council needs to begin making changes.

"I'm so tired of this BS." Great thought. Too bad getting anything done in or by town departments is always an uphill fight if municipal employees at any level are involved in any way.
so the TM has seen the report, the personnel director has seen the report, the town council has seen the report, the town attorney has probably seen the report. now a meeting will take place to discuss the report. Has the Chief or the Police officers seen the report. Seems like it would be logical to include them since this is thier issue to resolve. Or will they get it when the general public gets it. Someone is screwing this up big time.
The elected Town Council needs to assert its authority over the unelected TM and other appointed officials. We the People want transparency; that's why we voted out the old regime.
Why was the police union president suspended?
If the police chief and the police union president are suspended and there is no problem with them gone, then the town can save 2 positions and over $200,000 a year.
I'm feeling like I live in Madison.
Could that suspension be related to the DWI arrest involving a citizen that got out of hand?
Wasn't this union president just given an award for employee of the year?
The TM did not release personel information. The council does not release a report the taxpayers paid for. Wonder which is worse... either way it seems hypocritical to condem one and not the other!
If the reason for the suspension stated in the NHRegister is correct ( failure to return a key..) this is going to cost the Town $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Get over this "sue the Town" cry. Someone has to make decisions and most of the time they are the right ones. We never here about them do we?
If the TM continues to run the town and not the council; we should change our form of government. We should have an elected mayor that is responsible for managing Cheshire. It works great in Wallingford. We do not need a non elected official called the Town manager that lets the TC know whatever he feels when he feels like it.
It's a big conspiracy theory, leaving Tim White without an explanation. It's not all about you Tim. You sound like an angry teenager who wasn't invited to the Sadie Hawkins dance-GET OVER IT!
10:54: and you sound like an angry kid who lost the last election. YOU need to get over it.
It's all about TIM not the town!
Timmmmmmeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
