State commissioners resign

As is customary, Governor Rell has requested the resignations of all of her commissioners (NHR, by Gregory Hladky) and deputy commissioners. The article suggests that many are traditionally reappointed.

Perhaps some at the DOT won't be returning?

It's not "customary" if the incumbent is re-elected. Sounds to me like she plans to make changes and wants to have political cover. She did this when she took over from Rowland a hired back all but the five bad boys that had bad press.

The DOT CMSR just started in the late summer, doubt he is going anywhere. Ralph Carpenter moved over from DMV when Stephen Korta resigned. Carpenter is a former State Trooper.

Rell needs to get rid of at least on CMSR in order to give Cathy Cook the job she promised her back before the convention when she agreed to be a sacrificial lamb on the undertix for the GOP.

Well, I hope some at the DOT will leave and be replaced by people who can get the job done well.

I still don't understand though why the Transportation Committee doesn't provide oversight here. To me, it seems entirely appropriate.

The problem rests with Rell. if she were on the job and engaged you wouldn't be calling for the Ttrans Comm to oversee her inept appointees. She's been in office for 2 and 1/2 years for goodness sake.
