Schlesinger support

This story (Courant, by Jon Lender) is a bit disheartening. Alan Schlesinger is a nice guy and based on the people with whom I've spoken, Republicans (such as his 1500 convention delegates) don't seem to have left him. They still say that they support him. So this article is probably correct when it mentions that George Gallo omitted Alan from a list of current priorities, then the White House may have made something out of that omission.

The thing is , the guy is clueless. if you have seen him give interviews, most notably the one with Chris Matthews, he came across as a deer in the headlights. I dont care if he is republican. he isnt getting my vote. Lieberman is. I may be a devout conservative, but I dont march blindly. just as I have little use for President Bush's mishandling of the economy and the war, and the fact he is no conservative and have lost any confidence in him. No........thast whats wrong with this country, voting strictly along party lines.

We have had enough of that and enough of elected officials who go alogn with the status quo such as asking for money for artificial turf football fields. Enough is enough

I agree and don't feel that anyone should vote strictly along party lines.

I need to have a reason to vote for someone.

The reason I say that he's a nice guy is that I've spoken with him a couple of times. And one-on-one is the only way in which I know him.

I do wish I had seen him on Hardball. Chris Matthews really does play hardball.

But as for Alan's presentation on camera (which matters a LOT), not having seen AS on TV, I'm going to reserve my judgement for the debates.

Of course, I'm assuming that there will be debates with the three candidates, if not more. (I'm sure the Green and Libertarian parties have candidates.)

I have plenty of policy problems with Lieberman. He is a standard issue Democrat and his immigration policy lacks any sense. But unlike prep boy Lamont, he actually knows the nation is at war, It would be a terrible thing to elect some defeatist yuppie empty suit. so I' with Joe

How I hate having to vote for the "lesser of the evils", but Schlesinger has as much chance of being elected as the Green candidate.

What finally convinced me to support Lieberman was Lamont's pandering to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. If Lamont gets in, he'll make Hillary and Howard Dean look conservative! At least Lieberman has some mature balance and moderation.

PS: Thankfully, we don't have to settle for the "lesser of the evils" in the 89th this year. Tim White will make a positively great state rep!
