The headlines

Two newspapers have articles online about my win. Here is the NH Register (by Luther Turmelle) and here is The Cheshire Herald (by Leslie Hutchison). As well, the Amity Observer and the Orange Bulletin reported the results.

ok..........so..........why should we vote Vicky out?? What has she done (or not done) that makes it time to replace her?? Or, what is it that you can do for our district that she hasn't or cannot?........Is there a debate scheduled?

looken... two thoughts that come to mind:

1) the legislature is unreasonable and out of touch. This is exemplified in the fact that during the past session, they had time to ban soda in schools... but they did not have time to address energy or eminent domain issues. And she is a senior member of the majority party. So presumably she could influence the direction of the party's agenda, but did she?

2) I want my elected officials to stand up and be heard. I want to know what they are thinking and the reasons behind it. I believe they should be vocal on the issues... not necessarily on all issues (you can't do everything), but at least on some issues that you feel are important to you and the people you represent. I want my elected officials to use the bully pulpit. Does she use the bully pulpit?

Don't get me wrong... I don't know VN well, and what I do know of her is that she's a good person (hopefully the general election campaign stays clean...or at least factual... and I expect it will. She did call to congratulate me and I appreciated that.) But being a good person and being a good Representative are two different things.

As for a debate... nothing scheduled yet. But I know the Cheshire/Wallingford League of Women Voters will be scheduling a debate in Cheshire Town Hall for late October. They always do this and they always invite all Cheshire candidates... everyone from US Senate through to the people vying for the three state rep districts in Cheshire (89, 90 & 103).
