A sick, sick flyer; but no one takes credit

On Thursday a sick, sick mailer hit mailboxes in the 18th Probate District. The local papers, including the MRJ and the NHR covered the story. But I didn't see an image of the flyer for which the slimeball responsible took no credit:Since it's in the fourth district, I know the family that lives in the house... and it's not who this flyer is suggesting. So I'm glad to see that both candidates immediately denounced it in no uncertain terms.

I wonder if the person responsible can sleep at night?

I'm glad Matt Hall has denounced this slanderous flyer, but what does it say about his candidacy that such cowardly, shady characters support him?

You can't put this on Matt....this was unthinkable...

Has Peter Bowman publicly endorsed Matt Jalowiec yet?

The NH Register noted that in addition to this sleazy flyer, “a blog seeking to besmirch Jalowiec’s reputation has also appeared.” Peter could remove himself as a suspect by endorsing Matt J.

Peter should man up and endorse his party’s nominee anyway, as is traditional after a primary. If he fails to do so, he’s only undermining his own future in the party, and will be seen as immature sour grapes.

This has nothing to do with Matt H. I'm certain of that.

As for Peter, I know he and Matt were talking post-primary. But I haven't seen any public statements. And I certainly hope he endorses Matt J as -- back in May -- Matt J promised to endorse the nominated (not endorsed) GOP candidate.

Regardless of if this is or isn't Peter Bowman. Peter should come out and endorse someone. He claimed he was someone who has been involved in politics and worked for the party and the community. If memory serves he claimed to be a "community leader". If thats the case then shouldn't he weigh in with his opinion? Shouldn't he stick is neck out and endorse some one?

I also find it cowardly that who ever created the blog attacking Matt J. with lies deleted it. They had no problem hiding behind an anonymous mailing but now that people are looking for them they run like cowards, afraid to stick their necks out. Hmm.... who does that sound like? Interesting.....

Peter should come out and endorse someone.

Agreed. And having run for the GOP nod, it should be the GOP nominee who is endorsed.

I also find it cowardly that who ever created the blog attacking Matt J. with lies deleted it.

Deleting something from the web is tough to say the least... much tougher than simply taking down a blog. Thing is, web pages are typically recorded every 24 hours in a number of different places. So while one can delete a page to make it more difficult for regular people to google and find it... police and prosecutors can still locate evidence.

And since I think most reasonable people would conclude there's a connection between the website and the mailer... and since money (a stamp was purchased for each envelope) was spent on the mailer... it may be possible to get a judge to connect a campaign finance violation with the website... then obtain a search warrant for the hosting site to determine an IP address... then take the IP address to a street address and determine the person who broke -- at minimum -- campaign finance laws.

Let's just get this election over with and elect Matt Jalowiec. That's what needs to be done here in Cheshire. The guy's taken his beatings head on and came out on top of every single one. First it was, "oh you can't beat a Bowman, then oh gosh it's Meccariello, a 12 year incumbant." Well folks the rounds have ticked down and Matt Jalowiec is the only man standing. Lets make that the case after November 2nd 2010.

It's interesting that the Bowmans supported Peter Bowman and it didn't matter if they were affiliated with the Republicans or the Democrats. Peter had just become a Republican shortly before the R's naminated him. He probably would ghave run as a Democrat if that slot had been available. It's just amazing that all but two of the Republican caucus voted for an inexperienced Peter Bowman over Matt Jalewiec who had sought the nomination and had years of probate experience.

Now after the Southington Democratic candidate withdraws due to questionable circumstances related the improper transfer of a decease's property and previous warnings of his conflicts of interest with real estate, the Democrats select Matt Hall to run against Matt Jalowiec.

It's not surprising that shortly after Matt Hall was selected by to be the replacement candidate, Matt Hall signs appeared on the Bowman properties. Matt Hall has been a real estate lawyer. I don't think he has enough experience in probate and I find the souce of his support troubling.

Matt Hall's practice deals primarily with real estate law. His experience in probate is nowhere close to the experience of Matt J. I for one think Matt J. is the better choice.
