NJ gov't shutdown

New Jersey's Governor Jon Corzine has decided to shutdown the NJ state government. Sounds to me like a repeat of Lowell Weicker's summer of... was it 1993?

Fro what....demanding even higher taxes on an overtaxed state???

Blueblood. quit being an apologist for plutocrat spendoholics like Weicker and Corzine who soak the middle class because taxes don't matter to folks in their tax bracket

Corzine just wants to overtax people now so he can engineer some stupid nickel and dime one year tax cut in his re-election year and use that to fool the press into calling him a fiscal conservative. Saran Wrap is less transparent than this whole deal.

The "centrist Republicans" in NJ laid down so McGreevey could defeat Schundler, so surprise surprise, they once again are playing the role of the Vichy regime

at least Mrs. Schundler seems to have been given proper respect, unlike the winner in '01, as McGreevey succeeded in outdoing the Rahway refineries for personal stench upon taking office.

The bottom line is many "centrist Republicans" find conservative Republicans more troubling than all but the most certifiable Democrats. Of course, after doing the bidding of the Donks they get treated like another floozy and kicked to the curb, but self respect isn;t part of the calculus here
